Keeping Sane In a Pandemic

I, like most of us have lost mental peace multiple times in the last few months. Let’s just say- living with the pandemic has been tough. I am grateful to be fortunate enough to stay at home with my family during this time.

The first month went quickly! It was a time of ultimate relaxation and enjoyment. Catching up on those Netflix shows (recommendations later in the blog), cooking something new every day ( do check the previous blog on lockdown dishes, or just click here).


But yes, slowly the boredom kicked. Uncertainty of the current scenario did make me uncomfortable, life is at a standstill, you can say. The monotony of the same schedule in one place is not easy to overcome.

Yes, staying with the fam is a relief but one needs a change. So we started playing games and organising family activities. It did help a lot. We all have something to look forwards to.

The biggest role during the last few months, in keeping all of us sane, has been of my pet cat. She makes us happy like nothing else and her actions can lighten up the most intense situations. One hug from this furball can fix almost everything.

A special shoutout to all my friends to playing a part in keeping me sane too, talking helps guys!

We want to step out of the house for something more than groceries but yes the fear wins! In such times, I feel, trying to find happiness in small things can be helpful. This is what is keeping all of us going.

Let’s just say living in uncertainty is not easy, but loosing our mental peace is uncalled for ( telling this to myself every day!). For us to function well and efficiently, we need to find things that give us joy and do not require a lot of social interaction. I am not saying that these are the ultimate solutions but help one distract themselves.

Also, it is a great time to learn new skills, complete old assignments or do whatever you had left behind due to everyday life.

Here are something that I have done in the last few months to keep happy!

  1. Cooking more than ever ( for amazing dishes, click here)

  2. Completing the tasks I had left behind (assignments, projects, old hobbies)

  3. Made this website and I am fairly active on it too!

  4. Gave my Instagram model a complete makeover. (Rebranding hi kehlo, click here for a direct link to my insta)

  5. Family fun weekends - we play monopoly deal on weekday evenings and on weekends we organise fun activities like paint offs.


6. Go back to self-care and skincare ( you need care and you deserve self- care)

7. Yoga or Workouts

8. Get back to those unfinished books.

9. Netflix/ Prime or any other streaming service. ( fav shows that I watched recently- the politician, Hollywood, Schitts Creek, on Netflix, Upload on Prime)

10. Honestly, if you don't wanna do any of the above it is totally okay, we all have our own mechanisms and we deal with things differently. Sit back and relax.


I hope you guys find this helpful. On an ending note, yes this doesn't solve problems but does take your mind off of things which can be really helpful given the times!
